Striking modern riad in Marrakesh.

This striking modern riad in Marrakesh is designed and owned by a French lady, Marie-Christine Nourry. Before settling in the Medina of Marrakech a few years ago, she owned and ran a successful small hotel in the Luberon/Provence called Maison Garance (often photographed). She only recently finished this house, in her decoration she made a conscious effort to get away from too much ethnic décor and gave it a contemporary urban feel. She says her inspiration comes very much from New York lofts hence the industrial feel of the grey and the black colour scheme. She says the red in the colour scheme is very much representative of herself. Marie Christine has always taken a keen interest in interiors and design but it has not been her career.
