Bronxville Townhouse

20's Spanish-style townhouse in Bronxville, New York State

Former banker Cheryl Tague changed course and studied design at the New York School of Interior Design, founding her own business in 1996. She then spent nearly a decade in London before returning to New York in 2008. While living in London Cheryl had bought a 50's house in NY and planned to either undertake a major refurbishment or a new-build at some point. In the meantime she needed a family home for her husband and son and bought a 20's Spanish-style townhouse which she has remodelled and transformed, bringing back much of the original character but replacing bathrooms and the kitchen and providing critical storage. Set over 3 floors each of 600 sq ft the 3 bed (plus study) townhouse is proving an ideal base while a new stone house nearby is under construction. Many of the pieces she acquired in London fit perfectly in the townhouse, from the tribal rug to early 19th century chairs, a Soane goatskin desk chair (and custom desk) plus English art and pottery. A fan of Belgian design and linens along with Guinevere in the Kings Road, Cheryl continues to visit London for special items for clients plus she has the resources of the nearby Hudson area and New York city.
