Edwardian Arts and Crafts

Primorose Hill house designed by renowned interior designer Sue Timney.

This wonderful Edwardian Arts and Crafts style house stands proudly within leafy Primrose Hill, and manages to capture some of the space, light and freshness that the South African owners were so keen to retain within in their London lives. The interior spaces are large and spare and yet full of hand crafted colours, soft soft tones and exquisite surfaces that have become a perfect foil for the various collections in every room– wooden neck rests, primitive paintings and ceramics of the most sensitive kind. Since 1985, when Sue Timney and ex partner Grahame Fowler opened the first Timney Fowler shop, the company has gone from strength to strength. Their first range of fabrics – the black and white Neo-classical collection became an instant success and continues to be so. Highly contemporary in style, the bold and distinctive designs based on elements of Classical architecture have become timeless classics in their own right – erstwhile favorites of many interior designers.
