Complete rebuilding of an Arts and Crafts house in London

The complete rebuilding of an arts and crafts house in London was a successful collaboration between the Mexican-born Swedish based designer and his English client and architects. The Client and designer met at the Schotten and Hansen flooring stand at the 2006, 100% Design show in London. Part of a complex of red brick houses built around park-like gardens in the early 20C the house belongs to a couple with 4 young children who retreat to a country house for weekends. At every turn one is impressed with the quality of all materials and the fine finishing and brilliant storage solutions. There is a certain luxury to a spacious entrance and open staircase, the 1st floor housing just the master suite with a dressing room but excellent use of space above meant that the children have their own rooms plus 2 beautifully tiled bathrooms. Furniture is modern designer classics. The basement is a valuable space for extensive utility areas and sizeable playroom.
