Visual Feast

Remote farmhouse in the West Country

Antique dealer Vicky Heaton-Renshaw has never understood minimalism. 'Why would you want to live in such a cold, sterile environment?' she asks. Always someone who was very certain about what she liked, Vicky has forged her own inimitable style, collecting around her an eclectic combination of rare antiques, Staffordshire pottery and taxidermy. As a result, her home is an extraordinary visual feast that defies convention and any design rules. As a result her home is packed – minimalist purists would say cluttered - not just with stuff but with character, and is one of the most welcoming and unusual houses in England. Vicky Heaton-Renshaw lives with her husband Johnny, a practising GP in this remote farmhouse in the West country. The couple have 5 grown children, the eldest daughter lives in a cottage right next door to her parents' home with her own two little girls and her husband John. Vicky is an antiques dealer and in business together with her son-in-law John. They run a well-known antiques shop in a near-by market town.
