The Temple

8th C folly in Suffolk

The Temple is the country home of renowned London interior designer Veere Grenney. The house is in Suffolk and Veere is one in a line of privileged property lovers lucky enough to have held a lease for this enchanting property. The Temple with its view over the Suffolk countryside on one side and over the perfectly rectangular pond on the other, was originally built in the 18th C as a folly by the local squire. In the 1960s it was brought back to life (and saved from certain ruin) by David Hicks one of the greats of English interior design. The lease of the temple passed through the hands of a few other lovers of beautiful and spectacular houses before Veere had the opportunity to take it on.
